PHOTOS FROM CHINA

“This bridge is very narrow and without railing. My classmates
and I go across the bridge everyday. When we walk on it, I feel
quite scared. I think we should have guardrails and a warning on
the bridge.” Hua, age 15
“There is an electrical wire sticking out right at the
middle of the sidewalk on my way to school, and people may
get an electric shock by accidentally touching it.” Xia, age 10
“This photo was taken near a subway station. Many people walked here
because they had to cross the street to take the subway. But there are many
motorcycles in the middle of the road, blocking the cross line.” Zhu, age 8
“The students have to walk off the sidewalk for there are so many
bikes there. And the clothes hanging on the trees damage the
neat image of the city.” Lu, age 13
“The bus stop is facing the gate of a community right on the other side of the
road, while there is no cross line. So people tend to jaywalk and accidents may
easily occur.” Cai, age 11
“My classmates and I pass this place everyday on our way to
school. It becomes dangerous at night when people can not see
it clearly and may get hurt easily.” Ding, age 12
“I took the photo because of the telegraph pole which is at
the middle of the road; what’s more, it blocked the blind
path. It was dangerous for the blind who may bump into
the pole.” Fu, age 10
“There was a motorcycle parking at the non-motor way and
a pile of sands found at the sidewalk nearby. The motorcycle
blocked the way for bikes and the construction waste brought
inconvenience to people passing by.” Hong, age 11
“People would easily fall due to the uneven surface of the road.
One time, I fell down when I went home after school and got a
big bruise on my knees. It was quite dangerous.” Liu, age 10
“I found there was a breach on the isolation barriers between Vehicular road
and non-motor vehicle lane. This breach would lead to traffic accidents ,
because cars would rush into non vehicle lane and hurt pedestrians.” Sun, age 12
“Many students and other people would walk along the sidewalk
near the bus stop. But there was an electric wire without any
warning sign sticking out on the road. To solve the problem we
should move the wire away.” Zhu, age 10
